Pablo Picasso — 'Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.'
At Al Ghanim Bilingual School (GBS), arts learning is an essential part of a comprehensive education for every student. One of our goals as educators is to nurture our students’ creativity and knowledge. Our students learn how to communicate their perceptions, responses, and understanding of the world. They learn to express themselves through dance, music, drama, and the visual arts. The impact of the arts extends into other areas of schooling. Studies have shown that students who were more involved in the arts were more likely to be high achievers in school and were more engaged with learning during the school day. Through art education, students develop an understanding, an appreciation, and a respect for the multiplicity of cultures.
At Al Ghanim Bilingual School (GBS) we are increasingly using new media and electronic technology in the arts. We also encourage supporting the environment by the use of recycled material in the production of art projects.
Al Ghanim Bilingual School (GBS) students participate in several art competitions organized by governmental and non-governmental agencies.
