Message from the Elementary School

Elementary School is an exciting and important stage in your child’s education.  Expectations from learners are distinctly different from what they are in the Kindergarten, with increasingly more emphasis placed on academic learning.  Throughout the primary grades (1-3) students are guided towards mastery of literacy and numeracy foundation skills.  Students learn content knowledge and academic skills as well as critical thinking and twenty-first century skills.  As your child moves into the intermediate grades (4-5) academic expectations increase substantially in preparation for middle and high school level work.  With your continued emotional and academic support, your children will enjoy a smooth transition and success emotionally, socially, and academically as they progress through the elementary grades.
