GBS Profile
Al Ghanim Bilingual School (GBS) was established in 1997 as a private, coeducational institution catering to both Kuwaiti and international students. GBS is licensed and accredited by the Kuwait Ministry of Education. It is also accredited by The Council of International Schools (CIS).
GBS is comprised of four divisions. Kindergarten (KG1-KG 2), Elementary (Grades 1-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8) and High school (9-12). Most of our students are Kuwaitis. Teachers come from diverse backgrounds including North America, Europe, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, India, Bosnia and others. Staff turn-over is very low. Most teachers have been with the school for many years.
GBS understands the important role faculty members play in a school’s climate, culture, success and student learning. We acknowledge and value this role and place crucial importance on the recruitment, retention, and continuous development of highly talented, dedicated and enthusiastic teachers and administrators who will positively contribute to the school community and actively participate in school-wide improvement and ongoing professional development.
GBS offers a bilingual curriculum. English subjects (English language, History, Math, Science, Technology, Physical Education, HS electives, and Art) are aligned with North American Standards. Arabic subjects including Arabic language, Religion, Quran, Social Studies and Music are aligned with the Ministry of Education curriculum.
