ACADEMIC SUPPORT

The goal of Academic Support is to provide learning assistance to students who struggle academically in core subject areas. Students are assessed at school through formative and summative assessments in addition to MAP tests. Based on these initial assessments, recommendations are made to the teachers, students, and parents to improve performance.  The Academic Support Team will work on an intervention plan including but not limited to differentiated instruction, referral to the learning support unit (LSU), and after school support. If students do not achieve the expected progress as outlined in the academic support plan, the school Counselor will refer them to perform a formal assessment in an accredited child development center.

Effective parental communication and collaboration with the Academic Support Team and classroom teachers is imperative to ensure students’ success.
