Health Services
Providing proper environment to assure student’s physical & mental health are well maintained is a main goal in GBS. The student counselor supports the students’ emotional development and wellbeing through providing counseling and life skills sessions.
The school nurses provide general health education, guidance to students, health checkup, first aid services to students & staff members.
The school clinic operates & follows GBS Clinic Policies & procedures outlined in the school manual. All GBS clinic nurses are qualified and have a valid permit from the Ministry of Health. Given below are some of the responsibilities of the clinic nurses: -
Making sure that every student has a medical file from the Ministry of Health including medical information, medical history, vaccine records, etc.
Making a list of special health cases of students at school such as diabetic, asthmatic, food allergic, and other. The nurse shares this information with the children’s teachers and the Ministry of Health.
Trains teachers on how to deal with cases of epilepsy, diabetes, and other cases if needed.
Liaises with the Ministry of Health regarding testing students, transferring them to the clinic, vaccinations, making lectures about diseases and participating in seminars.
Communicates with parents about their children’s health conditions.
