I wish to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child/children back to GBS for the 2017/2018 academic school year. As many of you know there have been some recent changes to the management structure and I am delighted to have this chance to introduce myself. I had the privilege of serving as the Assistant Director for the middle school at GBS for two years and last year was the Deputy Director. This year I have assumed the role of Director and I am excited about the challenges and opportunities that are ahead.
During the course of this year I hope to have the chance to meet as many of you as possible. I am planning a series of “Meet and Greet”, providing me the opportunities to not only get to know our parents but also to share some of the exciting changes that will occur over the course of the year. Further details about this will be provided shortly.
I am committed to providing your child with the best possible education and that will remain the focus. All decisions that are made, moving forward, will have at their core, the best interest of the children and their learning. This is my commitment to you.
Change can sometimes be difficult and often times are met with resistance. I have no doubt that some of you will question some of the changes planned. I wish to assure you that any changes made will be done so with the best interest of your child in mind. Any organizational and institutional changes that will occur will be designed to streamline the system and make it more child/parent friendly. Changes to the academic program will occur as a mean’s of improving instruction and will seek to improve the overall academic success of all students.
I wish to extend an invitation to all parents to attend the Open House, scheduled for Wednesday, September 27 between 6pm and 8pm. This will be an opportunity for you to visit your child’s classrooms and meet his/her teachers.
Let me conclude by saying that one of the changes being made involve how we communicate with you, the parents. This welcome letter represents the last communication in this format. Moving forward, all of our notices and information will be communicated via our website, Facebook and Instagram or Email.
